A vehicle commerce platform combining live dealership inventory with an auction marketplace sourced from external auction data — authenticated buyers get a personal My Garage, and staff run the whole operation from a dedicated admin back office.

01 — Overview

Not a dealership website. A vehicle commerce platform.

Role
Sole engineer — architecture, Next.js frontend, Supabase data model, API layer, and admin tooling.
Two experiences
One platform, two paths to a vehicle: live dealership inventory, or an auction marketplace sourced from external auction data — each with its own search and detail experience.
Data
Dealership inventory lives in Supabase/PostgreSQL; auction listings are pulled from third-party auction APIs and normalized into the same vehicle record model.
Status
In active development — architecture, data model, and core flows are built; remaining admin tooling and visual polish are in progress for a 2026 launch.

What drives this panel

  1. Every field on this panel comes from one vehicle record — nothing is hand-entered per page.
  2. The monthly payment figure is calculated live from price, down payment, and loan term.
  3. Save writes the vehicle to the signed-in account's My Garage.
  4. Share generates a link straight to this vehicle.
  5. Book a test drive creates a lead that staff work from inside admin.
  6. Price-drop and stock badges are derived directly from the underlying record, not set by hand.

What the callouts show

  1. Filter sidebar — ten fields resolve server-side against the live auction feed.
  2. Current bid and Buy Now price sit side by side on every listing.
  3. Location and auction date drive a timestamped, external data feed.

How it works

  1. Ten filter fields — make, model, year, price, odometer, damage, title status, location, auction date, and seller type — all resolve server-side against the live feed.
  2. Buy Now, location, and sale-date controls sit directly on each row for a fast decision without opening the listing.
  3. A three-step service model: request a bid, our team places and manages it at auction, then the buyer completes the purchase once the vehicle is won.
  4. Every listing carries a timestamp showing exactly when it was last pulled from the external auction feed.

Buyers can find the lot, check hours, and get in touch without leaving the platform — the same page structure repeats cleanly across every dealership location.

Pulls live auction listings from Copart and IAA, so buyers see real, current auctions — not stale data.

Vehicle data APIs

Enriches every listing with standardized specs, so a bare VIN becomes a full vehicle record.

Supabase database

Every vehicle, account, and saved item lives in Postgres with row-level security, so accounts only ever see their own data.

Dealership Platform

Handles sign-in and sessions, so buyers stay logged in without re-entering credentials constantly.

Google Maps

Shows exactly where a vehicle is located, whether it's on the lot or at an auction site.

Storage & delivery

Stores and serves every vehicle photo, fast, at the size each screen actually needs.
